Metamar's Atelier has produced stone column capitals for some of the most demanding architectural projects in the world, including the elaborately carved Corinthian capitals that define the entrance halls of palaces and five-star hotels. Each capital is produced from your project's CAD drawings, translated first into CNC toolpaths and then refined by hand by master carvers with decades of experience in classical stone work.
The Saudi and Gulf architectural tradition demands capitals of exceptional quality — from gilded Corinthian capitals in grand reception halls to geometric Islamic-inspired capitals for mosque colonnades. Our Atelier handles both with equal precision, drawing on a team that has executed projects across Turkey, Russia, Lebanon, the United States, and the Gulf region.
What We Offer
The most ornate of the classical orders — two tiers of acanthus leaves rising to spiral volutes at each corner. Hand-carved to your drawings, with the option of gold-leaf finishing for palatial interiors.
The double-scroll volute capital, executed in the full classical proportion. Available in standard Vitruvian ratios or adapted to your column diameter with proportional adjustments confirmed by shop drawing.
The restrained orders — an abacus over an echinus moulding. Suitable for contemporary projects that require classical reference without ornamental complexity. Also the strongest structurally for load-bearing applications.
Combining Ionic volutes with the acanthus leaf basket of the Corinthian, the Composite capital offers maximum ornamental richness. A favourite for palatial reception rooms and grand mosque colonnades.
Fully bespoke capitals designed outside the classical canon — incorporating muqarnas geometry, arabesque leaf patterns, interlaced geometric lattices, or calligraphic bands. Produced from your architect's drawings or developed in collaboration with our Atelier design team.
Complete column base elements — attic bases, Doric plinths, stepped pedestals — fabricated to match your capital order and column shaft. Full column assembly sets (base + shaft + capital) available as coordinated packages.

How We Work
Our Atelier team reviews your capital drawings in detail. For complex hand-carved designs, we prepare a 3D model for client approval before any stone is cut.
For orders of significant quantity or complexity, we carve a single sample capital for client inspection and sign-off. Adjustments are made at this stage before full production.
The capital block is first rough-shaped by CNC to within 10 mm of the final profile. Skilled carvers then refine all leaf forms, volutes, and detail by hand.
Completed capitals are measured against drawings, photographed, and carefully crated for delivery. Each piece is individually numbered for installation sequence.
